Why it matters

Life insurance is the promise your income keeps after you.

If your family depends on what you earn — a home loan, school fees, everyday expenses, an ageing parent — then life insurance is what keeps those commitments funded if you're suddenly not around. It turns years of future income into a lump sum your family receives exactly when they need it most.

As an IRDAI-licensed LIC advisor based in [City], I help families across India choose the right plan — whether that's low-cost term cover to protect a loan, or a guaranteed-return savings plan for a child's education. No jargon, no pressure, and the premium you pay is exactly the same as going direct to LIC.

Choose what fits

Types of LIC life insurance plans

Different goals call for different plans. Here's how the main options compare — I'll help you pick the right mix.

🛡️
Pure protection

Term insurance

The most affordable cover. A large sum assured (₹50 lakh–₹2 crore+) at a low premium, paid to your family if anything happens to you during the term. Ideal for protecting loans and young families.

📈
Protection + savings

Endowment & savings plans

Combine life cover with guaranteed maturity benefits and bonuses. You get a payout on maturity if you survive the term, or your family gets the sum assured if you don't. Good for disciplined, safe long-term saving.

🎓
Goal-based

Child & education plans

Build a dedicated fund for school, college and milestones. Many plans waive future premiums if the parent passes away — so the child's goal stays funded no matter what.

💰
Income

Money-back plans

Receive a percentage of the sum assured back at regular intervals during the policy term, plus life cover throughout. Useful if you want periodic liquidity rather than a single maturity payout.

🏡
Lifelong

Whole-life plans

Coverage that lasts your whole life, not just a fixed term, with the option to borrow against the policy's value. A practical tool for leaving a financial legacy to the next generation.

⛰️
Retirement

Pension & annuity plans

Turn today's savings into a guaranteed income for life after you retire. Choose immediate or deferred annuity options to suit when you want the income to begin.

Is it for you?

Good to know

Life insurance questions families ask me

Term plan or endowment — which is better?

It depends on your goal. Term insurance gives you the most cover for the lowest premium, but pays out only if something happens during the term. Endowment plans cost more but combine protection with a guaranteed maturity payout and bonuses. A common approach is a large term plan for protection plus a smaller savings plan for goals — I'll show you both honestly so you can decide.

How much life cover should I take?

A common guideline is 10–15× your annual income, plus any outstanding loans, minus your existing savings and cover. Use the estimator at the top of this page for a quick number, then we'll refine it around your real situation.

Do I need a medical test to buy a policy?

Not always. Many LIC plans offer cover up to a certain limit without a medical exam, based on your age and a health declaration. For higher cover, a simple medical check-up is arranged, often free of cost. I'll tell you exactly what your chosen plan requires.

At what age should I buy life insurance?

As early as you have people depending on you. The younger you are, the lower your premium — and it stays locked in for the life of the policy. Buying in your 20s or early 30s can mean paying significantly less over the years than waiting.

Are the premiums tax-deductible?

Yes. Life insurance premiums qualify for deduction under Section 80C, up to ₹1.5 lakh per financial year, and maturity or death benefits are generally tax-free under Section 10(10D), subject to conditions. Tax rules can change, so I'll structure your plan against the current law.

What happens if I miss a premium?

You get a grace period — typically 15 days for monthly mode and 30 days for other modes — to pay without losing cover. If a policy does lapse, LIC usually allows revival within a few years by paying the overdue premiums with interest. I'll send you reminders so it rarely comes to that.

Will the claim actually get paid?

Claims are mostly rejected because of something not disclosed when the policy was bought. I make sure your application is filled honestly and completely from day one, and I personally assist your family with the claim later. LIC's claim settlement ratio is among the highest in the industry at over 98%.
